Work

So, you'd like to know something more about my work... I try to be objective.

It is quite a good job: I have to have 2 patients in 1 hour. They get a physical treatment, stimulation current and train on tools for 20 minutes each - usually. Then there are some other patients who get a massage, treatments for a neurological disorder or just a physical treatment.
For a PT Job is is really nice - the best one I have had so far. But there is still this feeling: not being happy or feeling balanced.
I am not satisfied with my doing: there are people after an operation involving the knee or hip. These clients come, get there treatments and after 2 weeks (around 6 treatments) I don't know what to work on more - there is no muscular weakness or instability. But as those ones get 30 (!) treatments I have to do something...
Then there are people with shoulder problems - broken upper arms, impingement sydroms, rotator cuff rupture - when 60 or 90 treatments are finished they can hardly use their arm in the normal way (usually). I do know that, the doc does know, the patient does know but I still have to work with the patient as long as they get doctors prescription. - In Germany the PT are not allowed to work indipendently; we have to get a dos's prescription beforehand! -
Another group of patients is the one with broken forearm or ankle. They come off hospital and the very next day I get them for the first treatment - we cannot do much apart from wiggling toes or finger...
The "Neuros" are my favourites - we both know nothing will help persistently. So the question before each treatment is what we should do for the moment.

Hard is I am waiting for the day to finish - at 8:05am. And I am waiting for the weekend - from monday morning on.

As mentioned above: It is a good job, not paid to badly. But still there is this feeling: doing my job - not a vocation - as good as I know and with that sentence in my mind: the earlier I start the earlier I've finished...
